A word for the unsayable self. The embodied, situated first-person locus of perception, action, sociality, conceptualization, and linguistic articulation.
A being capable of non-linguistic sentient agency, social interaction, and participation in linguistic discourse.
The term ego is used here in its literal sense (Latin ego, “I”) to denote the embodied first person center of perception, identity, and discourse. It is not restricted to the psychoanalytic meaning introduced by English translations of Freud.
