Definition
Having a reliable method. Iterative, cumulative, corrective sampling of patterns in receptionality. The repeated application of the next step. The mechanism of recursion vis-a-vis a norm. That is, _subjectively indexed corroboration_.
Is justification internal or external. Compare to the black hole question. Can justification lose information? How did I learn this? Must I be able to retrace the steps to it? do we have access to the information that has given us these questions: is the soul immortal?
I am allowed to get a corroborational score from a legitimated institution? Revelation, peer-review, jurisprudence, experimental confirmation. Instrumentalism and engineering. What about apologetics, the performance of an argument?
Compare the internalist view of corroboration with the identity problems of Locke and Reid. Is this GWT again? How much access must we have to the reasons for our knowledge?
Pragmatism--rightly understood--is not a theory of truth. It is a theory about the legitimacy of corroboration. Pragmatism provides an escape from the quandary of certainty versus scepticism, but it leaves coherence, correspondence, and foundation in place as the norms or corroboration.
